Hoffman retains points lead through Carolina swing with World of Outlaws
Before pulling out his No. 9 Late Model, Nick Hoffman made a stop at Millbridge (N.C.) Speedway on Tuesday evening to compete in the first night of the Double Down Showdown with the Xtreme Outlaw Midget Series.
Rolling off third in the $4,000-to-win main event, Hoffman was running inside the Top-5 before mechanical issues struck with less than 10 laps to go. Nick was scored 18th.
Joining the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series at Ultimate Motorsports & RV Park (Elkin, N.C.) on Friday, Hoffman started his 25-lap preliminary feature from sixth and fell back to 15th when the checkered flag flew.
Unfortunately, Saturday's $35,000-to-win main event was rained out.
Hoffman currently leads the World of Outlaw point standings.
