Dirt Track World Championship brings Hoffman to Eldora Speedway
With Mother Nature axing Thursday’s program and his plans to compete in the Justin Allgaier-owned No. 7 Modified, Nick Hoffman unloaded his Tye Twarog Racing No. 9 Late Model at Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) over the weekend for the 43rd running of the General Tire Dirt Track World Championship presented by Automotive Racing Products.
After inclement weather condensed the originally scheduled two-day event, Nick followed up the 13th-fastest qualifying effort in his group on Saturday with a fourth-place finish in his heat race on Sunday, relegating him into a B-Main. With a consolation victory placing him on the 10th for the $100,000-to-win Dirt Track World Championship, Hoffman was an early retiree from the 100-lapper on the seventh circuit.
